Romero Collier is a player on the rise. The sophomore talent is a 6 foot, 180 pound, point guard from Henninger High School in Syracuse, NY. This year, Romero averaged 11 points , eight assists , 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game for his class AA school.
His work ethic and drive make Collier a top prospect in the 2015 graduating class. We learned that he has high goals. “I just hate losing, so that makes me work hard, and I know that there is someone somewhere else that’s getting better, so that makes me work hard, too.” His intent to be a better player has attracted attention. Collier also plays AAU for the Syracuse Select and he is looking forward to the upcoming Gym Rat Challenge.
Romero knows his game well and he has improvement plans for the spring and summer. “My strengths are handling the ball, running my team, and knowing the game. My weaknesses are I don’t move without the ball sometimes and my defense can be better. I’m looking forward to going to Nationals for AAU and also to playing with my teammates (at Henninger) and defending our sectional title.”
Collier is a top tier player and we at Upstate Scouting Service can only see him progressing further. His dedication to the game will be the driving force for him going forward. We at USS would like to thank Coach Erik Saroney, as well as Romero Collier, for their time as we wish them the best of luck in the year to come.
