White Plains’s Jordan Tucker is making people in Section One notice his talent.  The 6’6” freshman is already considering offers from Manhattan, Providence, Fordham, Xavier, Detroit, and Oklahoma, and has interest from Virginia, Arizona, Miami and UNC.
Tucker says that his strongest assets on the floor are shooting, attacking the basket, and creating his own shot. His scoring ability has been unrivaled, despite being such a young player. Tucker has shown he has the ability to score in bunches. There was plenty of buzz about Tucker when he revealed he would be transferring to White Plains after playing in Florida as a middle schooler, and he has done more than live up to the hype.
Tucker has said that the biggest adjustment for him has been for the opposing defenses. “I came into this season well-prepared. In high school the defense is a lot better because teams practice every day, and the pace of the game is different,” he said in a recent interview with Upstate Scouting Service.  Tucker’s ability to play from the wing at 6′ 6″ gives him a major edge over his competition. He is a lock-down shooter, but also can attack the basket and shake his defenders with ease. “Right now my biggest thing is becoming more explosive and stronger, but that will come along,” said Tucker, “Also I have been working on my extended post game. I have been watching tapes on Melo and I see that in his skill set.”
With over three years still to go, Tucker has plenty of time to develop his already explosive skill-set. Aiding his development has been the ability to play along side fellow standout Mike DeMello. “Playing with Mike DeMello has been really good! He is, in my opinion, the best point guard in Section One and when I’m having an off day, he is there to pick me up with his offensive ability and it’s been a great experience to play with a point guard with such a high IQ like him.”
The dynamic duo has helped lead White Plains to a 15-3 record this season and has made them one of the favorites to come out of the Class AA bracket. Tucker, despite all of his personal success,  remains focused on one thing. “I have one goal and that is to win the Gold Ball.”
Upstate Scouting Service thanks Jordan Tucker for his time and wishes White Plains the best of luck in the Section AA sectional bracket.
