**2018 Upstate Throwdown College Exposure Shoot-out**

 

 

 

 

 

This October Upstate Scouting Service will again be hosting its College Exposure Shootout at Rensselaer High School.  The event will be held on October 28th. This is not a traditional “exposure” event because it is not designed for simply charging admission, selling concessions, or marketing our brand.  This is an evaluation period for our scouting service, as well as for the D2, D3, and JUCO coaches who attend.  When a concentration of talent can compete in a controlled setting, it is as productive, if not more so, than most high school or AAU games. This Shootout is for student athletes who are serious about continuing to play basketball after their high school graduation.  We will have players from almost every NYSPHSAA section, including much of New York State’s top talent.  Please feel free to come out and test your skills in front of coaches who may recruit you for their programs.  Validate your hard work and aspirations- see if you have what it takes to elevate your game to the next level.

The Upstate Throwdown College Exposure Shoot-Out is intended to give COLLEGE COACHES an opportunity to evaluate the ability and potential of those who desire to someday play COLLEGE BASKETBALL.  Over 100 colleges will be invited.

 

Please note:  Anybody registering after October 21st (and especially walk-ins) are NOT guaranteed to get there information in the program.

 

Orientation:       12 pm check-in, event starts at 1 pm.

                                    All players MUST have medical insurance.

                                    All players will receive a Shoot-Out t-shirt and play 3 games.

                                    We will attempt to limit each team to 8 players.

Upstate Scouting Service is proud to continue the tradition of the “Shoot-Out” that was previously operated by NYS Basketball Hall of Famer Al Knapp and his son, Siena great Scott Knapp.  Coach Knapp is the winningest coach in Section III history and has won a state championship and five sectional titles.  Scott was known as a deadly 3-point shooter during his time at Siena, as well as being All-State 3 times while playing for his father.

 

Al and Scott Knapp have provided their endorsement and support to Upstate Scouting Service to continue this event for years to come.

 

Upstate Scouting Service provides a monthly newsletter to subscribing college programs from the Northeast.  Players from the event could potentially be featured in the newsletter and/or on the website.
