Upstate Scout went out past Buffalo, NY to profile a player from Cathedral Prep High School in Erie, PA. While we focus on upstate New York, Cathedral Prep plays several high school teams from Western, NY so we took it upon ourselves to dig up some information in an under-recruited area to provide college coaches the opportunity to familiarize themselves with a potential college prospect. Sheldon Zablotny is a rising senior point guard who has played at the Varsity level since his freshman year. With a great first step and the ability to shoot the basketball, Sheldon has the ability to play at the next level. Coach Mark Majewski from Cathedral told us, “A very important part of my job as the Boys Varsity Head Coach at Cathedral Prep is to assist our student athletes in selecting a higher academic institution to continue their academic and athletic careers. Sheldon Zablotny, who will be a senior for the 2012/13 school year, would be an excellent addition to any institution at the collegiate level.
